Wesley Farnham of Trenton and Johnny Poore of Cross City were recently recognized for their military service by Haven Hospice Veteran Volunteers. Farnham served in the United States (U.S.) Navy. Poore served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War for four years as a finance officer and went on to retire from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The Haven Hospice Pinning Ceremony for veteran patients also includes a veteran pin, a thank you card signed by the staff and a certificate of appreciation from Haven Hospice which are all presented by volunteer veterans. Veterans were also presented with a red, white and blue blanket knitted by a volunteer and donated to Haven in memory of her granddaughter, Jordon Elmore. The presentation ends with a salute to honor the veteran’s service.
