David Cannon, Gerald Willis, Richard Yates and Edwin Hug of Lake City were recently recognized for their military service by Haven Hospice Veteran Volunteers. Cannon served in the United States (U.S.) Air Force during the Gulf War. Willis served in the U.S. Coast Guard, Yates served in the U.S. Navy and Hug served in the U.S. Army. The Haven Hospice Pinning Ceremony for veteran patients also includes a veteran pin, a thank you card signed by the staff and a certificate of appreciation from Haven Hospice which are all presented by volunteer veterans. The presentation ends with a salute to honor the veteran’s service.
