Marie-Carmelle Elie, M.D. recently began her role as Haven’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO). A triple board-certified physician, Dr. Elie joins Haven’s executive leadership team with extensive experience in patient care, research and leadership.
“I am eager to join the Haven team because Haven’s reputation precedes itself; countless numbers of my patients and families have found peace and comfort when transported into the care of Haven providers over the years,” said Dr. Elie. “I’m looking forward to discovering new ways to engage the community in the Haven mission.”
Dr. Elie, who has held leadership roles at the University of Florida (UF) for nearly ten years, will split her time evenly between Haven and UF Health. She currently holds academic appointments of Associate Professor in both the departments of Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine, Division of Palliative Medicine at UF. A funded researcher, Dr. Elie has dedicated 15 years to collaborating with scientists and physicians throughout the United States with the prospect of improving the immediate and longitudinal outcomes of the critically ill and dying patient as well as the quality of life of patients and their loved ones.

Among other responsibilities, Dr. Elie’s role at Haven includes Haven Medical Group leadership, new program innovation and development of provider partnerships that enable Haven to further its reach and impact across communities served.
