The Haven Hospice Foundation added two members to its Board of Directors. Gainesville lawyer Robert O. Stripling, Jr., and Gainesville physician Tom Young, M.D. joined this month. The board now has twelve members.

Robert O. Stripling, Jr.

Stripling has extensive law experience. He received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and completed his juris doctor degree at the University of Florida. Admitted to law practice in 1966, Stripling has experience in the Florida Supreme Court, United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals, United Sates District Court (Middle District of Florida) and the United States District Court (Northern District of Florida).

Dr. Tom Young

Young, a Gainesville physician, practiced obstetrics and gynecology in a private practice for more than 30 years. Young also served as Chief of Staff at the Alachua General Hospital. He completed his undergraduate education at West Virginia University and earned his medical degree at Northwestern University.

Both new board members have military experience. Stripling served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and the United States Army Reserve (Judge Advocate General), and Young served in the United States Navy.

“The wealth of knowledge and experience that both Bob and Tom have in and about Haven, Alachua County and the surrounding communities is immeasurable,” said Sharon Jones, Haven Hospice Vice President for Development and Haven Foundation Executive Director. “The Foundation will be well served by their expertise.”
