Jennifer Malko has been named Vice President of Business Development at Haven, North Central Florida’s legacy mission-driven provider of hospice and palliative care. With a background in healthcare business development, sales, and administration and operations, Malko brings years of relevant experience to Haven.

As Vice President of Business Development, Malko will be responsible for a team of professional liaisons who cover Haven’s 18-county service area, working to ensure that hospitals, physicians, nursing homes and assisted living communities can partner seamlessly in meeting the needs of patients and residents who could benefit from quality, compassionate serious illness and end-of-life care. Malko and her team also serve as hospice advocates, helping educate the communities Haven serves regarding advance care planning and options for effective pain and symptom management and comfort care.

Malko came to Haven from Amedisys, one of the nation’s largest home health and hospice providers, where she most recently held the position of Area Vice President of the company’s Western Pennsylvania operations. She also served as an interim Area Vice President and an Area Manager of Hospice Outreach at Amedisys.

“My goal in returning to the hospice field,” said Malko, a licensed practical nurse, “Was to be involved in positive patient outcomes, in focusing on providing every patient and family Haven serves with dignity and respect—as well as great patient care.”

Malko’s hospice experience also includes four years at VITAS Healthcare as Director of Market Development for its Pittsburgh region, in addition to a lengthy tenure with the long term acute care hospital provider LifeCare Health Partners. Malko began her time at LifeCare as a Market Director of Business Development in Pittsburgh and rose through the ranks to become a Vice President of Business Development and then Market Chief Executive Officer for the Pittsburgh region.

She also has served as chief administrative officer for the post-acute care division of a large physician practice.

A native of Quebec, Canada, Malko, who is fluent in French, has lived and worked in the United States since 2000. She received her college diploma from John Abbott College, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec, Canada, with a degree in police and criminology. She received her nursing degree from Western Area Career Technology Center, Canonsburg, PA, and has maintained her nursing license through the years.
