Inaugural Battle of the Clubs Raises Funds for Haven Hospice

Seven teams totaling 42 participants competed against each other in a game of Topgolf at the inaugural Battle of the Clubs to raise funds for Haven Hospice unreimbursed programs and services on the First Coast.

During the event, Haven Hospice Counseling Support Services Manager Vonceil Levine shared a personal testimony from a family that recently received services from Haven Hospice. Through the Volunteer Services Department, a memory bear was crafted out of a suit worn by a young woman’s father who recently passed away. “This bear was especially significant during the young woman’s wedding in June where the bear served as a memory of her father during the celebration,” said Levine. “This is the type of unreimbursed service that is supported by your participation and sponsorship in events like Battle of the Clubs.” Nearly every patient and family served is touched by Haven’s unreimbursed community programs which include patient care, grief support services like Camp Safe Haven, volunteer programs such as the We Honor Veterans program and much more.

All event participants were registered into a drawing to win a football autographed by Jacksonville Jaguars Wide Receiver Allen Hurns, four complimentary Jacksonville Jaguars tickets, and a basket of spirits donated by ABC Fine Wine and Spirits. Haven Hospice also hosted Jacksonville Jaguars players Ben Koyack, Justin Horton, A.J. Cann and members of the Jacksonville Jaguars Cheerleading Team, the Roar, who spent time visiting with participants during the event.

Many thanks to Platinum Sponsor Lampkins Patterson Cremation and Funeral Service; Gold Sponsors Family First Homecare and Pepis Enterprise, Inc.; Silver Sponsors ComForCare Homecare and CareSpot Affiliated with Baptist Health; and all of our event participants. The event also included a drawing and silent auction with items donated by various organizations including PRP Wine International, Deerwood Country Club, Painting with a Twist and many more.
